Combine Language and Country to Create Any Locale
You can now create any valid locale by selecting a language and country — allowing you to more precisely target regional audiences with Webflow Localization.

Previously, Localization customers had to choose from a fixed list of predefined locales based on a language code. Now, we’re happy to share that you can create any valid locale by first selecting a language and then optionally pairing it with a country.
Whether you’re targeting a single language across multiple regions, or creating region-specific variants of the same language, this update gives you more precise control to speak to the cultural and regional nuances of your audience —like Portuguese speakers in Brazil or French speakers in Canada.
How it works
To create a locale, go to your Webflow Localization settings, choose the language you want to use, and optionally combine it with a country for added specificity. For example, you can create “French” for a global audience, or “French (Canada)” for a regional variant. This flexibility helps you deliver more relevant content and a better experience to your visitors — wherever they are.
