Set a default preview role for each site
Designers and site managers can save a default preview role per site, so the Webflow canvas opens in a simplified view automatically on every visit.

If you regularly preview your site as a content editor or marketer, you can now save that role as a preview role preference for a site. The Webflow canvas will open in your saved preview role every time you return, with no need to switch roles manually.
Here's how it works
- Open the Designer canvas and click the Webflow logo in the top left corner
- Open the Preview role dropdown, select Marketer or Content editor, then click Always default to that role on this site to set the preview role preference
- The next time you open the canvas for that site, it will load in your saved preview role automatically
Your preview role preference is per-user and per-site, so setting your preferred role won't affect any other sites you work on. To change or clear it, repeat the steps above and pick a new role or uncheck the current preference. Available to any user with Designer access or higher, on all site plans.
