This Applicant Privacy Notice (“Notice”) describes the categories of personal information that we, Webflow, Inc., a Delaware corporation located at 398 11th Street, Floor 2, San Francisco, CA 94103 (inclusive of our Affiliates, collectively referred to as “Webflow”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), collect, how we use your personal information, and how we secure your personal information for the purposes of applying for employment at Webflow. This Notice also describes your rights regarding your personal information collected as part of the application process. Webflow is committed to properly handling your personal information in connection with your application for employment at Webflow.
For the purposes of this Notice, personal information means any identifiable information about you. Personal information excludes anonymous or de-identified data that is not associated with a particular individual.
1. Collection and processing of personal information
Webflow collects and processes your personal information for the purposes of: hiring, employment evaluation, voluntary demographic reporting purposes, legal compliance purposes, and pre-employment background checks (if permitted under applicable law).

B. Sensitive personal information
The categories of personal information that Webflow processes include “sensitive personal information” as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”). Webflow does not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose not expressly permitted by the CCPA.
For individuals located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK or Switzerland, we will process sensitive personal information, such as race, ethnicity, or health data, only with your explicit consent or where processing is necessary for legitimate interests, provided such interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at privacy@webflow.com.
C. Personal information Webflow may collect from other sources
We may obtain information about you from public sources, background check providers or third parties pursuant to applicable law. For example, we may obtain information about you from individuals who have referred you to us and recruiting service providers who may collect your personal information from publicly available sources. You may also choose to give us access to personal information stored by third parties, like your profile on a job-related social media site. By providing us with this access, you agree that we may collect and use this information in accordance with this Notice. We may also conduct background screenings through a third-party service provider and verify application information, like your education, employment, and/or criminal history, as allowed by applicable law.
If you participate in video interviews, we may collect personal information provided during the interview, which may include your image, voice, and the content of your interview responses. This information is collected to assess your qualifications for the role for which you are applying and to improve our interview process. As part of our hiring process, we may use artificial intelligence (AI) to conduct initial screening interviews. In these interviews, an AI agent will ask you structured questions about your qualifications and experience for the role. Your responses will be recorded, transcribed, and may be evaluated and scored by the AI against criteria defined by our recruiting team. The AI-generated evaluation, along with your full transcript and recording, will be reviewed by members of our hiring team to inform hiring decisions. AI is used as an assistive tool and does not make final hiring decisions. The AI evaluates your responses based on structured criteria relevant to the role, such as relevant experience, skills, and qualifications. It does not assess or infer personal characteristics such as race, gender, age, disability, or other protected attributes. The AI-generated scores and evaluations are one input among several that our recruiting team considers; no candidate is advanced or rejected based solely on AI output. We may also use interview recordings and transcripts for internal training purposes, including to train and improve our interviewers and hiring processes. We may use third-party service providers to facilitate video interviews and AI-conducted screening interviews. These service providers are bound by contractual obligations to keep your personal information confidential and secure.
- Opt-In/Opt-Out: Participation in video interviews is entirely voluntary. You may opt-out of having your video interview recorded by notifying us prior to the interview. If you are invited to complete an AI-conducted screening interview, participation is voluntary. You may request a human-conducted screen as an alternative by expressing this request in response to your invitation to the AI-conducted screen where applicable. For applicants located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we process your data in connection with AI-conducted screening interviews on the basis of your consent and our legitimate interest in evaluating candidates for open roles. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting privacy@webflow.com, and such withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal. Opting out of AI-conducted interviews, video interviews or recordings will not negatively impact the assessment of your candidacy.
- GDPR Compliance and Cross-Border Data Transfers: If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland or the UK, we will ensure that your personal information is protected in accordance with GDPR requirements. We use approved data transfer mechanisms, see below.
2. Data retention
We store your personal information for only as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purposes set forth in this Notice. AI-generated evaluations, scores, and transcripts from screening interviews are retained for the same period as other application materials. Interview recordings used for internal training purposes are retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill that purpose.
3. Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have certain rights relating to your personal information, including:
- the ability to confirm that we have your personal information,
- the right to access your personal information,
- the right to have inaccurate personal information corrected,
- the right under certain circumstances to the erasure of your personal information,
- the right to have the processing of your data restricted,
- the right to have your personal information in a portable (machine-readable) format,
- the right to object to certain types of processing,
- the right not to be subject to automated decision-making.

If an AI-conducted screening interview is used as part of your application, you may request information about how the AI evaluated your responses and request human review of any AI-assisted decision. Webflow does not make hiring decisions based solely on automated processing. Where AI is used as part of the screening process, a human recruiter reviews all AI-generated outputs before any decision is made regarding your candidacy.
For your protection, we may need to verify your identity before acting upon your request. Please note that we retain certain data where we have a lawful basis to do so, including for legal record-keeping.
We do not sell your personal information as defined under the CCPA
4. Who we share your personal information with
We share your personal information only with those who need it in order to perform their tasks and duties for the purposes described above. We may disclose your personal information to the following types of third parties:
- Webflow Companies: We may share your personal information with Webflow affiliates or subsidiaries for the purposes described above in Section 1 (“Collection and Processing of Personal Information”).
- Third-Party Service Providers: We may share your personal information with our third-party service providers who provide services like recruiting, background screening, and applicant management.
- Legal and Security: We may share your data with parties as needed for security or legal compliance reasons. If Webflow undergoes a business transaction like a merger, acquisition, corporate divestiture, or dissolution (including bankruptcy), or a sale of all or some of our assets, we may share, disclose, or transfer all of your data to the successor organization during such transition or in contemplation of a transition (including during due diligence).
Each service provider is vetted and bound by contractual obligations that are equivalent to the provision of this Notice or more stringent.
5. International transfers
Webflow uses approved data transfer mechanisms to transfer your Personal Information in and out of the United States and other jurisdictions, when applicable. We rely on the European Commission–approved Standard Contractual Clauses (and similar instruments for the UK and Switzerland) as a legal mechanism where required for any data transfers from the U.S. to a country outside the UK, EU, EEA, or Switzerland to the extent that any such transfers occur.
6. Security measures
Webflow is committed to ensuring the security of your personal information. We use commercially reasonable technological, physical, and administrative security safeguards, such as firewalls and carefully developed security features, to protect the confidentiality and security of your personal information However, as no system can be 100% secured, we cannot guarantee against unauthorized access by third parties.
7. Recourse, Enforcement, & Liability
We will investigate and work expeditiously to resolve any complaints or disputes in accordance with this Notice. If you have an inquiry or complaint regarding this Notice or our privacy practices, please contact us first at privacy@webflow.com .
You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority or regulator in your jurisdiction.
8. Updates to this notice
When we make a material change to this Notice, we will notify users by updating the posted date. Changes become effective the day they are posted. The revised Notice supersedes all previous versions of the Notice.
