Structuring for AEO goes a step further by making it easy for AI to pull a specific, credible answer as a response to a user’s query (similar to how featured snippets surface short answers in traditional search engines).

An AI-friendly page structure usually includes:

  • A direct answer or explanation near the top of the page that the AI can pull (just like in this guide you’re reading right now).
  • Descriptive, question-led headlines that match how people search.
  • Scannable supporting formats like tables, bullet point lists, and FAQs that make information easier to find at a glance.
  • Short, answer-oriented paragraphs, each centered around one idea, so answers aren’t buried inside dense passages.
