A year of documenting how AI touches Webflow's product, who owns each control, and how it's monitored ended with ISO 42001 certification.
The Webflow team is excited to announce that we have achieved ISO 42001 certification. This certification further evidences our commitment to our customers to stay secure as we move faster with AI to enable Weblow’s agentic marketing platform.
ISO 42001 is the global standard for how organizations develop, deploy, and manage AI. Covering controls from risk assessment, AI impact evaluation, data governance, and ongoing oversight. Webflow's security team mapped our AI practices, documented the controls behind it, and opened our work to an independent audit by Schellman. The certification is proof that we built trust in our systems and infrastructure that our customers expect.
We started the process last year. That meant documenting how AI fits into Webflow, what data it touches, who is responsible for each step. We overhauled our agile software development lifecycle and evolved it to become an agentic development lifecycle. This has allowed Webflow to work at a new speed, unlike any time before, with greater guardrails, richer context, and smarter security assessments enabled through AI. Building with AI isn't a different discipline, it's the same intent where we have trust at its core.

Webflow treats AI governance as a core product responsibility, not an afterthought. That matters for teams operating in regulated industries, where governance standards are table stakes before you ship. It matters for companies that require vendors to meet specific standards before approval. And it matters for any customer who wants to know that the systems they depend on are managed with intention, not hope.
ISO 42001 is a checkpoint, not a finish line. AI governance will keep evolving with the regulatory landscape. You have our commitment that Webflow will keep evolving with those changes, to empower you, to build for what's next.
